I was watching the gametrailers retrospective of The Legend Of Zelda game series the other day and I thought to myself. “Why isn’t Zelda a playable character in any of the Official Zelda games anyway?”. I thought it is a very good question. I mean. Considering that there are 15 Legend of Zelda games. I mean, even Peach from Super Mario got her own game at one point (Super Princess Peach. Try it, it’s very fun 🙂 ). I don’t really count the Philips CDI-games though… Because… Well…

…and…

… besides, Nintendo had nothing to do with those games, except for letting Philips use the licenses to the names Link, Zelda and Gannon.

The closest thing to having Zelda in the lead would be that she can possess big enemies in Spirit Tracks.

Personally I’d love to see a kick ass Zelda in the lead of a Zelda game. Hell I would buy that right away. Don’t tell me that you wouldn’t?

Anyway, I figured that I’d try to make a comic around that… So one of the most iconic moments for me is none other than this scene:

And yes, I blame nostalgia for this one. But still! The very first thing you do in the very first Legend Of Zelda. Get the fucking sword (unless you are a badass and finish the game without it)! So I figured it’s appropriate to place the comic there,   I guess 🙂

It’s a day late because of my stupid multi-display adaptor. But all in all, I am very very happy with it. The joke is good and the art really came together. Mmmm 🙂 Yeah I am very happy. A good way to start out this September.

2016 Revision: Hi guys! It’s me FROM THE FUTURE!!! I’ve decided to remove the “It’s because the sages are sexists. True story” bit from the comic because it didn’t contribute to the joke at all! Also there’s this whole thing about sexism in video games that are total bullshit, and I didn’t want to contrubute to that silly movement.
