Checkmate

I’ll just come out and say it: I love Chess. No not the musical, the game! GOD! You read the comic strip just a sec ago. But it is indeed a game of strategy, deceit and power!

Like I mentioned in “Chess Club” that I posted last year, I used to be the local junior chess champion back in the day. I can tell you stories about how I as a 10 year old won games over much older, more experienced player by playing “dumb” and making them underestimate me, because you know, I’m just a kid. But then turning around and putting them right in their spot. The angry glare they tended to give as we I reached out and shook their hand afterwards. Ah! Those were good times!

Anyway, I recently started looking up YouTube videos at work when they go though famous games and such, and it is oddly relaxing. I’ve got to admit that it really makes me want to play more. And that’s how I came up with this comic strip!

Also, on a creative note: I probably spent waaay too much time on drawing up those chess pieces on the board. I know I’ve got at least one more chess related strip written down so I guess maybe I’ll get some more use out of them?

Anyway! Stay awesome, slacker dudes and dudettes!
